The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women last reviewed Libya’s compliance with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in 2009. At the time, the Committee expressed concern that the State party had not adopted comprehensive legislation to protect women against gender-based violence.
